Intrauterine PRP in Portland
Support for your uterine lining and your fertility plan.
Intrauterine PRP at Origins Integrative Health supports the uterine lining, using platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. It’s a quick, in-office procedure for Portland patients working toward pregnancy. Care is led by Dr. Laura Clevenger at our clinic on SE Ankeny St.
What is intrauterine PRP
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is made from a small sample of your own blood, processed to concentrate the platelets. Platelets contain growth factors, which are the signals your body naturally uses to repair and renew tissue.
In intrauterine PRP, this concentrate is gently placed inside the uterus to support the uterine lining, where an embryo implants.
Who intrauterine PRP may help
Intrauterine PRP is most often considered for people who have:
- A thin uterine lining that hasn’t responded the way they hoped to estrogen support
- Had transfers that didn’t implant, even with good-quality embryos
- Scarring inside the uterus (Asherman’s syndrome), as support while the lining regrows
- Unexplained infertility with questions about the lining
It can be part of IVF and embryo transfer cycles, IUI, or trying naturally.
What the research shows
The research on intrauterine PRP for a thin lining is encouraging. A 2024 review of 8 randomized trials found that women who received PRP had a thicker lining, higher pregnancy rates and higher live birth rates than those who didn’t.
Your intrauterine PRP visit
Your care starts with a consultation about your history, your goals and where you are in your fertility plan. Together, we decide whether intrauterine PRP is a good fit.
The procedure is quick and done right in our office. A small blood draw comes first, then your PRP is prepared and gently placed.
