Anxiety Treatment in Portland

Counseling and psychiatric care, together.

Anxiety treatment at Origins Integrative Health brings counseling and psychiatric care together for Portland patients. Your providers work as one team, so you don’t have to piece your care together on your own. Visits are available in person in SE Portland or by telehealth.

If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 any time. Origins is not a crisis service.

What anxiety treatment at Origins includes

Anxiety care here draws on multiple areas of support, chosen for what fits you:

  • Counseling gives you a steady space to talk, plus practical skills for worry, tension and racing thoughts.
  • Psychiatric care offers a full assessment, a diagnosis, behavioral strategies and, when it fits, medication management.
  • Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner also looks at the physical side of anxiety, such as sleep, nutrition, stress and lab tests.

The National Institute of Mental Health notes that anxiety treatment usually involves therapy, medication, or both. At Origins, you can have both under one roof.

What anxiety care can help with

Our team can help if worry feels hard to switch off, if you have panic attacks, or if anxiety is affecting your sleep, work or relationships.

We also see anxiety show up alongside depression, grief, big life changes, chronic health conditions and hormone shifts. Caring for the whole picture is what we do.

In person or telemedicine

We offer flexible care that fits seamlessly into your life. Whether you prefer in-person visits at our SE Portland clinic or the convenience of online appointments, Laura and Hilary are here to support you.

asked questions

How do I get started with anxiety care?

Contact us or call our front desk. We'll help you choose whether to start with counseling, psychiatric care or a naturopathic visit, and we can help you check your insurance benefits.

Will I have to take medication for anxiety?

No. Some people find medication helpful, and others focus on counseling and lifestyle support. The choice is yours, made together with your provider.

Can I see a counselor and a psychiatric provider at the same time?

Yes, and many people do. Counseling and medication management support different parts of your care. Our providers coordinate with each other, and with your other doctors, so everyone works from the same picture.

Can naturopathic care or acupuncture help with anxiety?

They can be a helpful part of your plan. Naturopathic doctors look at hormones and other factors that affect mood, and many people use acupuncture for stress and sleep. Both work alongside counseling and psychiatric care.
