PRP Microneedling in Portland

Smoother, brighter skin with your body's own repair.

PRP microneedling at Origins Integrative Health pairs a fine-needle pen with platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. It helps Portland patients refresh their skin naturally, with smoother texture, softer fine lines and a brighter tone. Results look like you, just healthier, and care starts at our clinic on SE Ankeny St.

What PRP microneedling is

Microneedling uses a pen with very fine needles to create tiny channels in the skin. Your skin answers with its natural repair process, which includes building fresh collagen.

PRP comes from a small sample of your blood, concentrated so it’s rich in platelets and their growth factors. Applied over freshly microneedled skin, PRP travels down those channels to where your skin is rebuilding. Our article on PRP for facial collagen explains the science.

What PRP microneedling can help with

Patients come to us for PRP microneedling to help with:

  • Fine lines
  • Uneven texture and tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damage
  • Acne scars

Adding PRP is especially helpful for acne scars. A 2022 meta-analysis of 14 studies found more improvement with microneedling plus PRP than with microneedling alone.

How PRP microneedling at Origins is different

We use a PRP tube that concentrates PRP to 2-8x baseline. Standard gel PRP tubes only concentrate PRP to 1-3x.

We also start each treatment by injecting some of this highly concentrated PRP in specific spots under the eyes and along the nasolabial folds, to further stimulate your body’s natural collagen and elastin production. It acts as a biological regenerator rather than an instant, heavy-volume synthetic filler.

Results from PRP microneedling

Your skin heals quickly on the surface, while collagen keeps building underneath. Changes in texture and tone build gradually, so your results look natural. We’ll talk through a treatment plan that fits your goals at your consultation.

PRP microneedling is an aesthetic treatment and is usually not covered by insurance. Call us for pricing.

asked questions

Does PRP microneedling hurt?

Most people find it very comfortable. It feels like light pressure or scratching, and we take steps to reduce any discomfort by applying a topical anesthetic cream. Afterward, your skin may feel warm, a lot like a mild sunburn.

Why add PRP to microneedling?

PRP carries growth factors your body uses to signal repair, and the microneedling channels help it reach deeper skin. Research shows the pairing can improve acne scars more than microneedling alone.

When will I notice a change?

Many people notice a fresh glow soon after their skin settles. Deeper changes in texture and tone keep building as new collagen forms over the course of 3-6 months, and we check in on your progress along the way.

Is PRP microneedling covered by insurance?

It's an aesthetic treatment, so it's usually not covered by insurance. We go over your plan at your consultation, and you can call us for pricing.
